Principal's Weekly Update: August 31

Westmont Community,

This Wednesday night, September 1st, we will be hosting our Virtual Back To School Night.  This event will begin at 6:30 with a welcome by our administrative team via a webinar at the following link:  https://bit.ly/WestmontBTSN.  After the welcome, you will have the opportunity to meet your student’s teachers through an individual teacher Zoom presentation. During this time, a teacher will go over the specifics of the class.  If you have further questions for the teacher the best way to get a hold of them will be through email. Each teacher will have a zoom link to their classes that will be provided to you in ParentSquare on September 1st by 3:00 PM.  If you encounter any issues with logging on to a particular class, please use this link during the evening of September 1st for tech support:  https://bit.ly/BTSNhelpdesk

The health and safety of our students and staff are our top priority, and we want our community to be informed. This week, our campus had 2 confirmed COVID-19 exposures. Each case of COVID-19 on our campus is thoroughly investigated to identify close contacts quickly and stop any further exposure.
The affected individuals were directed by the Public Health Department to isolate and their immediate family/household members and all identified close contacts have been contacted by school staff and directed to follow the CDPH quarantine recommendations for schools, monitor for COVID-19 symptoms, and comply with the recommended interventions.
Please continue to monitor your student for symptoms and keep them home if they are sick. Please contact your healthcare provider if they develop symptoms or if you have any additional questions or concerns. For more information on CUHSD's COVID-19 Plan and Response please click here

And lastly, as the school year gets underway, I encourage you to follow your student’s academic progress on his/her Canvas account.  If you are not familiar with Canvas please click on the Canvas Link to learn more about this important platform to monitor student grades, attendance, and assignments.  Our PTSA will also be hosting a Canvas presentation on September 14th.  More information will be shared in the coming days.

Have a great week and Go Warriors!
