Thespian Troupe #2904
Dedicated Westmont Theatre Arts students become members of the International Thespian Society - Troupe #2904. As members of this international organization, our students regularly collaborate to promote Theatre as an Art Form and share their love of Theatre amongst their fellow students and their community. Thespian officers and peer leaders attend the Northern California Leadership & Tech Conference in the Fall. They travel to see shows throughout the school year. And a large group of Thespians attend the State Conference in the Spring where they join 1,000 other high school students from all over the state of California. At these conferences, students have the opportunity to network, learn from and bond with Thespians from all over the state of California, audition for scholarships and work on shows which are rehearsed and produced in an exhilarating 24 hours!
State Festival registration is open now!
Here are some exciting changes this year:
- Scholarships are available to all inducted Thespians in the state, regardless of Festival attendance. Scholarship applications are due Jan 31.
- California is piloting new Directing and Prop Design Thespys.
- Playworks is now Thespy Playwriting, and all submitted scripts will receive written feedback from professional writers.
- All performances at Festival (Thespys, Scenefest, etc) must be drawn from scripts in the public domain or on EdTA’s list of pre-approved publishers are allowed (see the list of pre-approved publishers here).
