On Friday, May 19, 2017, 25 Westmont students attended the 1st Annual Latino Student Summit.  The summit was organized and hosted by CUHSD students.  The summit was a success as students from all 6 school gathered at 9 am at San Jose City College to be a part of this wonderful experience.  The summit included three break-out sessions where students could choose a topic of their choice.  The options for the sessions were:
          1.  Building Leadership: Leadership in your home, school and community
          2.  Achieving College Education: high school requirements, financial aid, and career advancement
          3.  Interested in an Alternate Career:  Choosing a successful path
          4.  Home and Family: Successfully balancing culture family responsibilities and academic success.

During lunch, students were able to listen to Mariachi music and Folclórico dancers. For Westmont students, this was an opportunity to reflect about their heritage and their leadership skills.  After the event, many students express their enthusiasm for starting a club on campus.
