AP Physics I
Physics I, Advanced Placement is part of the college board’s redesign of Physics B, Advanced Placement, currently an approved AP course in our district. The Physics I, Advanced Placement course is equivalent to a first-semester college course in algebra-based physics. The course covers Newtonian mechanics (including rotational dynamics and angular momentum), work, energy, power and mechanical waves and sound. It will also introduce electric circuits. Prerequisite: Completion of Integrated Math 2 or higher math with a grade B or better. Enrollment in Integrated Math 3 STEM or higher.
