Industrial Technology Program

Course Descriptions

Students in Manufacturing Technology will be introduced to CTE

(Career Technical Education) skills. They will have the opportunity to design, plan and construct projects that are based on industry standards.  Major emphasis will be placed in the following areas: solid modeling techniques, 3D printing, laser cutting and engraving, CNC, CAM, CAD, manual machining, measurement, welding, sheet metal development and product design.

Grade Level: 9-12

Graduation Credit: CTE, Applied Arts

CSU/UC: Elective(g)

CTE Pathway: Machining & Forming Technology

CTE Course Level: Introduction

Manufacturing Technology 2 is a project based course centered on advanced manufacturing techniques and concepts. Students in Manufacturing Technology 2 will continue to develop an understanding for the following concepts: drafting solid modeling techniques, 3D printing, laser cutting and engraving, CNC, CAM, CAD, manual machining, measurement, welding, sheet metal development  and developing a project from initial concept to finished product.

Prerequisite: Manufacturing Technology  1

Grade Level: 10-12

Graduation Credit: CTE, Applied Arts

CSU/UC: None

CTE Pathway: Machining & Forming Technology

CTE Course Level: Concentrator

Manufacturing Technology 3 is a project based course where students will be able to specialize in the following areas: vertical milling, manual lathe work, CNC lathe and mill work and welding technologies. Solid modeling software will be utilized in the development of student designed projects. In this course, students will use state of the art tools and equipment in their education. This course is designed to prepare students for certifications with the National Institute of Metalworking Skills. (NIMS)

Prerequisite: Manufacturing Technology 2
